During the summer of 1998, I was the librarian for the University of Georgia art department's Studies Abroad Program. My family and I lived in the Tuscan HIll town of Cortona, Italy. It was fabulous. On the top of the hill stood a church dedicated to St. Margherita de Cortona - and she was in there! In a glass coffin where all could see her mummified body. On the main square, the Piazza Della Repubblica, life exploded every evening as the temperature cooled. Italy is the perfect place for sitting in one place and watching the world go by! Here you can see my pot of tea and the long narrow streets of the town behind.
