Ahh - this piece! This was a favorite for a long time. It was large, on silk crepe, and the image is of a mirror on the wall opposite the bathroom. See - the paintings above the mirror are some of mine and my friend Lydia Ricci’s artwork, and the image inside the mirror is a reflection of the back door, the bathroom door, the bathtub, towel, rubber ducky and bathroom window. I called the piece “Positive/Negative” and I loved the interplay of the navy blue “reality” juxtaposed with the colorful “reflected” space. It was first exhibited in my first solo show, Ethereal Spaces at Clayton Street Gallery in 2001, and went on to be my first entry to the annual A Common Thread exhibition at The Textile Center in Minneapolis, MN in 2010. This painting was included in my solo exhibit, Names + Places, in Aubusson, France in 2022.
